American Library Association (ALA) Annual Convention Co-Sponsored Session
USBBY holds a co-sponsored session at the annual convention of the American Library Association featuring an international author or other expert in the field of literature for children and young adults.
2012 ALA Co-Sponsored Session, Anaheim, California.
The United States Board on Books for Young People (USBBY) and the Association of Library Services to Children (ALSC) are pleased to present a panel of three outstanding authors whose books are set during three different wars-World War I, World War II, and the war in Afghanistan. The panel members will relate the "stories behind the stories" of their books along with difficulties encountered in writing about this topic for young people. The audience will have an opportunity to ask questions of panel participants. Free bookmarks listing 2012 USBBY Outstanding International Books will be available.
