To combat an ongoing, present-day crisis, over the past few months, USBBY/IBBY, along with REFORMA, sought monetary and book donations to the IBBY/REFORMA Project, so that Spanish and bilingual Spanish/English books could be purchased and shipped to the various shelters and transportation points, through which asylum-seeking children pass and arrive.

As of mid-May, USBBY has raised over $3000 and received many more in-kind book donations toward this effort. Data points, press releases, and updates about the situation can be found here.

USBBY continues this effort.

The years are rushing along and by the end of 2022 I will retire from my current position at IBBY. Therefore, the International Board on Books for Young People is beginning its search for a new Executive Director.
 
IBBY has grown enormously  during recent years and is now  looking to recruit someone who is engaged and ambitious to take on this stimulating position starting from late 2022.  Please share the attached job description with the members of your section and with anyone who may be interested in taking IBBY forward. The closing date for applications is Wednesday, 1 September 2021. Due to the high number of applications we expect to receive, interested candidates are advised to submit their applications as soon as possible.
