To combat an ongoing, present-day crisis, over the past few months, USBBY/IBBY, along with REFORMA, sought monetary and book donations to the IBBY/REFORMA Project, so that Spanish and bilingual Spanish/English books could be purchased and shipped to the various shelters and transportation points, through which asylum-seeking children pass and arrive.
As of mid-May, USBBY has raised over $3000 and received many more in-kind book donations toward this effort. Data points, press releases, and updates about the situation can be found here. USBBY continues this effort.
