This exciting one-day event will be hosted at the beautiful Scholastic, Inc. headquarters in New York's historic Soho district at 130 Mercer Street.

Get ready for a day full of resonant feature talks and presentations celebrating the work of the International Board on Books for Young People,  poster sessions, and pre-event activities, all exploring the power of language shared through the stories we tell.  

This unique event will feature inspiring and informative panels. Planned topics and speakers include:
  • A World of Language: The Art and Work of Translation , moderated by Doris Gebel with Claudia Zoe Bedrick, Ali Boozari, Eric Velasquez, and Marshall Yarbrough
  • Manga: The International Literature Children Love That We Could Talk More About, moderated by Jillian Rudes with Mark Devera, Emily Drew and Ajani Oloye
  • New Voices, New Children's Book Imprints, moderated by Jacqueline Woodson with Yael Berstein, Angus Killick, Christopher Myers,  Maria Russo, and Namrata Tripathi
  • The Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award, featuring 2023 Laureate Laurie Halse Anderson
  • Shining a Light on Action: How Children's Books Make a More Just World, moderated by Rita Williams Garcia with Anthony Del Col, Ruchira Gupta, Jason Low, Areli Morales, and Aida Salazar
  • Expanding Horizons through International Illustration, moderated by David Wiesner with Rashin Kheriyeh, Yevgenia Nayberg, Francesca Sanna, and Betty Tang
