Grab an Uber or jump on a city bus to ride down to the amazing new Central Library.

Come early for a casual on-your-own breakfast in the bright and cheery Cookbook Bar and Cafe at the Central Library, where you'll find farm-to-table dishes and the cookbooks that inspired them! Opens at 9am; see their menu here.

We'll meet outside the Cookbook Bar and Cafe at 10am to begin our visit to the Central Library, one of TIME Magazine's "World's Greatest Places 2018" and recipient of many architectural, engineering, and conservancy awards, including the Urban Libraries Council 2018 Top Innovators Award. The six-story building covers 200,000 square feet and houses, among other things, a local seed library.

Learn more about the Central Library.

Friday, October 25 at the Austin Public Library, 710 W. Cesar Chavez St, Austin TX

9 am: Optional breakfast in the library café

10 am: Visit with Suzan Nyfeler, APL Youth Librarian
