Every other year IBBY presents a juried Selection of Outstanding Books for Young People with Disabilities. Each IBBY member country is invited to nominate up to 12 of its books for consideration. The 2019 Selection, which was announced at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair in April, features 40 books in 17 different languages from 20 countries, of which 3 came from the U.S. nominating committee chaired by Amy McClure. Please enjoy the following guest post from Jury President and Lead Librarian of the IBBY Collection for Young People with Disabilities, Leigh Turina.
